Betsie picked up these lovely oyster and lion's mane mushrooms from Ferg's Fabulous Fungi at the Capital City Public Market in Boise. A morel hunter stopped by Betsie's market booth with a bag full of these treasured mushrooms and hand-selected one for Betsie to paint. She got back to the studio to arrange the still life and discovered the heart shape on the bottom of the morel stem. Awwww.
